Kalthoum Hantoul got the host nation off to a victorious start in the first of the night’s finals, the women’s 50 kilograms, where she defeated Haya Al Ali 5-0.

The second victory came in the men’s 71kg final, where Saudi Arabia's Hassan Kaabi beat Turki Alkhalifa of Bahrain.

Saudi Arabia's Hala Alrashidi narrowly failed to emulate Hantoul, losing 3-2 to Bahrain's Maryam Khamis in the 54kg category.

The last women's final of the night saw Kuwait's Noura Almutairi earn the 60kg title at the expense of Qatar's Dana Al-Jabor.

In the following men's programme, Bahrain's Azat Makhmetov earned the 51kg honours with a win over Mansour Khalifah of Kuwait.

Home boxer Thamer Almatrafi was beaten in the 63.5kg final by the United Arab Emirates' Amer Alsuwaider.

Kuwait’s Yousif Hussain beat home fighter Mohammed Alsubhi in the 80kg final.

In the last bout of the night, victory in the over-92kg final went to Bahrain’s Danis Latpov as he defeated Saudi Arabia’s Sultan Almusaed.

Meanwhile karate continued with six more kumite finals.

The opening final of the night saw Greece's Konstantina Chrysopoulou beat Algeria’s Khadidja Ghelam in the women’s under-61kg final.

The women’s under-68kg gold went to Ukraine’s Elina Sielieminieva, who beat Wissal Ezzar of Tunisia 2-1.

Montenegro’s Milena Jovanovic beat Morocco’s Maroua Eddarhri in the over 68kg final.

In the men’s kumite finals, first gold went to Turkey’s Omer Yurur, who beat Nazim Nurlanov of Kyrgyzstan in the under-75kg class.

The men’s under-84kg gold went to Morocco’s Mehdi Sriti, a 5-3 winner over Anas Alzahrani of Saudi Arabia.

In the final contest of the night, home athlete Sanad Sufyani beat Dias Anarbekov of Kazakhstan to the over-84kg title.

On the previous evening in the karate programme, the men's kata title had gone to Hong Kong’s Yu Hin Tang on 42.00 points, with Italy’s Guido Polsinelli taking silver on 41.20.

The women’s kata gold went to Belgium's Chiara Manca, who scored 42.20, with Colombia’s Leidy Castano Rojo second on 41.10.

Castano Rojo’s compatriot Sofia Cardenas Balcazar had better luck in the first of the kumite finals, in the women’s under-50kg category, where she beat Cylia Ouikene of Algeria to gold.

Algeria won the women’s under-55kg title through Louiza Abouriche, who defeated Kazakhstan’s Bella Samaseva.

Victory in the men’s kumite under-60kg final went to Morocco’s Abdelali Jina, who beat Sultan Alqahtani of Saudi Arabia, while the men’s under-67kg title went to Egypt’s Amed Lofty, who defeated Azerbaijan’s Huseyn Mammadli.

There were also six finals in sumo wrestling, with Olena Nikitinska earning the women’s lightweight title against fellow Ukrainian Alina Duzhenko.

The men’s lightweight final was also an all-Ukrainian affair, with Sviatoslav Semykras beating Demid Karachenko.

Ukraine also took the women’s middleweight title thanks to Karyna Kolesnik, who beat Brazil’s Luciana Higuc.

And the Ukrainian success continued in the men’s middleweight final, where Vazha Daiauri beat Badral Baasandorj of Mongolia.

Ivanna Berezovska made it five out of five golds for Ukraine by beating Kellyann Ball of the United States in the women’s heavyweight final.

But a Ukrainian clean sweep was denied as the men’s final, featuring Japan’s Taisei Matsuzono and Lasha Jeladze of Georgia was won by the latter.

In sambo, the mixed team competition went to Europe 1, 5-3 winners over Asia Oceania 2.
