World silver medallist Wang Chuqin of China defeated compatriot and reigning Olympic champion Ma Long to claim the singles title at the World Table Tennis Star Contender in Lanzhou.

Wang, with a superior head-to-head record of 7-2 in the last nine games, added one more with a 11-4, 11-3, 6-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-8 at the Lanzhou Olympic Center Tulip Complex.

The latest victory comes after Wang made Ma suffer at the WTT Champions in Macao earlier this year.

"Ma Long and I both played a wonderful level in this match," Wang said.

"From the beginning I was leading, but Ma Long began to disrupt my rhythm.

"I could not find a way to solve it, but I stuck to my own style of play in the fifth set and found my rhythm again."

In what was another all-Chinese affair, top seed Sun Yingsha compatriot Chen Meng 11-4, 11-6, 12-10, 11-5.

Chen however was able to take the doubles crown along with Wang Manyu.

It was a lucky win for the Chinese duo after their opponents Shin Yubin and Jeon Jihee of South Korea withdrew before the match due to injury.

More joy came for China as Kuai Man and Lin Shidong combined to win the mixed doubles crown.

The got the better of Hina Hayata and Tomokazu Harimoto of Japan 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 12-10, 13-11.

Félix and Alexis Lebrun ensured that hosts did not win all titles.

The French duo emerged victorious in the men's doubles, beating Xu Yingbin and Lin 11-2, 12-14, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8.
