Toni Vodisek and Daniela Moroz are each one race win away from victory after topping the standings in their respective gold fleets at the Formula Kite World Championships in Cagliari.

Slovenia's Vodisek enjoyed a brilliant day on the Sardinian waters, winning two races, finishing second in another and discarding the other result.

That left Vodisek with a net total of 14 points - 12 clear of second-place Maximilian Maeder from Singapore.

Vodisek advances to tomorrow's first-to-three medal fleet with two race wins, while Maeder is through with one.

The rest of the top 10 - including defending champion Theo de Ramecourt and French team-mates Axel Mazella and Benoit Gomez - must first come through the semi-finals to have a shot at the world title.

American Moroz was not as convincing as yesterday in the women's racing, but still posted four top-six finishes to maintain her lead.

Moroz finished sixth, fourth, third and second today, with the first of those results discarded.

Moroz has a net total of 16 points, with France's Lauriane Nolot two back.

Ellie Aldridge from Britain was the day's standout kitesurfer - going first, second, fourth - first, but still had double Nolot's net total.

World champions are due to be crowned tomorrow.
