Individual athletes from Russia (FIAS 1) won a total of 23 medals at the 2024 SAMBO European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 9-10 May, topping the medal table with 13 gold medals. Only 3 Russian athletes went home without a medal.

The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union (JJAU) has conducted a series of seminars alongside the eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship, to refine technical proficiency among individuals associated with the sport. Tailored to enrich the skills of referees, support staff, and officials, these seminars provided participants with insights into the latest rules and practices.

The First Meeting of Women and Sports of Taekwondo, organised by the Bolivian Taekwondo Federation and led by President Ana Hernández and Director of Women and Sports Laura Roca, has been an extraordinary event that has left an indelible mark on the taekwondo community Bolivian.

Three countries have been awarded Olympic berths following the reallocation of quota places. Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea clinched them in the men's -68kg category, while Fiji have confirmed another in the women's -67kg category.

After the continental championships, the Judo Grand Slam returned with a tournament in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. As competitions for adults in various weight divisions unfolded on Friday, the host nation secured an impressive haul of seven medals, comprising three gold, two silver, and two bronze, securing the top spot on the medal table in the newaza discipline.

Abdulmunem Alsayedohamed was re-elected President of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Union (JJAU) for another term, by acclamation, during the annual General Assembly meeting held today in Abu Dhabi alongside the ongoing eighth Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Four athletes will represent their country at the Paris 2024 Taekwondo tournament. France announced its squad for the taekwondo tournament on May 3.

The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union convened on Friday to strategise and outline plans for the sport’s development in the future, with a primary focus on fostering growth and expanding its reach.

Five Taekwondo athletes were named by International Olympic Committee (IOC) to take part at the Paris 2024. With five athletes, Taekwondo is the third most represented sport in the team. The addition of five refugee athletes will result in the largest number of Taekwondo athletes ever at an Olympic Games with more than 130 due to compete in Paris.
