The event was organised in cooperation with the Dutch Student Sport Association / Studentensport Nederland (SSN), the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute, and was attended by over 30 participants, representatives of the partners, national university sport bodies and universities. 

The main objective of the ESOM project is to strengthen the management and event organisation in university sport, through blended learning, exchange of experiences, gaining new information and skills on the key topics of sport management, funding, communication, and other key issues. 

The webinar was opened by a welcome from Kevin Van Loon, representing one of the project partners, the SSN, who gave some background on the project and the topics to be covered in the webinar. Andrej Pisl, EUSA Project and Policy Manager, also welcomed the participants on behalf of EUSA as the coordinator of the project.

The content of the webinar started with a presentation by the keynote speaker, Marjolijn Van Oordt, who explained in detail the concept of good governance. Her presentation covered key elements as an introduction to good governance, starting with the definition, the theory of change, as well as stakeholder mapping and management.

Risk assessment, probability and impact, prevention and mitigation strategies were also emphasised. Van Oortd also contributed with a valuable presentation on decision making, the steps and the definition of the process itself. In this context, she focused on the negotiation part, explaining the definition and the elements: process, agreement, individual interests and the negotiation domains. 

The last part of the keynote focused on psychological positioning, the importance of this step, the impact, the do's, the elements and the negotiation domains: content, process and relationship. 

The webinar continued with the presentation of Aleksandra Snopek from the Polish University Sports Association - AZS. She focused on the structure of AZS, basic documents, financial background, sporting events and philosophy, as well as an overview of activities and media coverage of the association's work. 

Marija Panijan, representing the Croatian Academic Sports Federation, gave a detailed presentation of the Federation, its structure, organisation structure, and the importance of certain working documents and policies, highlighting the equality policy with the inclusion of disabled people and the at-risk group, increasing the participation of the women. 

In her presentation, Panijan presented the implantation and importance of good governance in the Federation, explaining in detail how the decision-making process and policy-making work. She emphasised the development strategy 2024-2028 and the participation at the international level in FISU and EUSA. 

Andrej Pisl gave the next presentation on the implementation of good governance. He presented the different events organised by EUSA for students aged 17 to 30, as well as different educational events such as: conventions, conferences, seminars, forums, online events and webinars to promote strategic dialogue. 

The presentation covered different ways of working with different partners, mainly through different projects promoted by EUSA. Pisl presented structural documents that play an important role in regulating and implementing the steps of good governance.

He concluded with the communication and ways to increase cooperation and information flow between partners, member federations and other stakeholders, mainly through newsletters, annual publications and official social media channels. 

The last presenter was Sara Rozman, EUSA Education and Development Manager, who focused mainly on presenting in more detail the EUSA Incidents Policy, which addresses the issue of safety and ethics, explaining the purpose and key importance in the vision, policies and creating a safer and more inclusive environment.
