Pan American Taekwondo Union strengthens ties with Kukkiwon. PATU

The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) and Kukkiwon, the global headquarters of taekwondo based in South Korea, have signed a major cooperation agreement to establish a working office at the CU.

The establishment of this office is primarily aimed at addressing important issues related to education and inter-institutional support for the benefit of the Pan-American Taekwondo community.

Juan Manuel López, President of PATU, expressed his enthusiasm and optimism about this historic milestone for the discipline. In his statements, he remarked: "This agreement represents a fundamental step forward for taekwondo in the Pan American region. Working more closely with Kukkiwon will allow us to improve the quality of taekwondo education, provide greater support to our athletes, and promote a more unified and collaborative environment between institutions."

The new office will serve as a hub for the coordinating educational programmes and joint projects between the Pan American Taekwondo Union and Kukkiwon, with the aim of raising the standard of taekwondo in the region.

The agreement covers not only sporting aspects, but also emphasises the importance of promoting values such as discipline, respect, and integrity among Pan American Taekwondo practitioners. It is expected that this cooperation will benefit coaches, athletes and taekwondo enthusiasts in the region and contribute to sustainable growth and excellence in the sport.

With this agreement, the Pan American Taekwondo Union and Kukkiwon demonstrate their joint commitment to the comprehensive development of the discipline in the region, laying the foundation for a promising future and strengthening ties between sporting institutions at the international level.
