Consumer goods firm Unilever have joined forces with this year's Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands, it has been announced.

The British company is an official bronzer sponsor and packed goods partner of the Games.

The deal will see Unilever provide beauty and personal care products through a welcome pack to athletes and officials at Pacific Games.

Rexona, Dove, Sunsilk, Lifebuoy and Lux are among the many personal care brands by Unilever.

Additionally, fans can make use of a free hair makeover at a Sunsilk booth in venues while customisable Magnum ice creams are also available as part of the tie-up.

"We are proud to associate with Pacific Games, a platform that provides opportunities to budding athletes from across the region - enabling them to achieve their goals," chief marketing officer of Unilever International Nitin Agarwal said.

"This partnership will help us tap into a niche audience and their love of sports, build relevance with our purpose-led brands while empowering and supporting future generations of sports athletes."

The company signed a deal with FIFA until 2027 and was a sponsor at the recently concluded FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

According to Unilever, more than 3.4 billion people use their products daily in 190 countries.

Pacific Games Organising Committee Board chairman Martin Rara praised the "significant, historical and timely" partnership that will help Solomon Islands deliver the Pacific Games.

"Unilever has some of the world’s biggest and most impactful consumer brands and we are incredibly excited for them to join us on this journey," Rara said.

"The significance and timeliness of this sponsorship will go a long way in us delivering a historically successful Games this year.

"This year is going to be a landmark moment for Solomon Islands and for the Pacific Games - Unilever is the ideal sponsor to help us grow the Games globally.

The 2023 Pacific Games is scheduled run from November 19 to December 2.

This will be the first time the Pacific Games is being held in the Solomon Islands.
