Mexico extended their lead in the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games medals table following a clean sweep of the racketball titles.

Eduardo Portillo and Rodrigo Montoya combined for gold in the men's team final at the Centro Olimpico Juan Pablo Duarte as they downed Costa Rica.

Portillo stepped onto the court where he faced off against Felipe Camacho who was unable to threaten his opponent in what turned out to be a short affair.

The Mexican surged to victory by an 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 scoreline, putting his side up 1-0 in the best-of-three decider.

Montoya then ensured the match did not go to a third fixture as he beat Andres Acuña in a 3-2 epic.

He looked to be cruising towards the win after taking a 2-0 lead but the Costa Rican fought back to send it to a fifth game before Montoya finally put the nail in the coffin to end it 11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 10-12, 12-10.

Montserrat Mejia and Paola Longoria then emulated their compatriots' success with a women's team triumph against Anna Aguilar and Ana Martίnez, who were competing as neutrals.

The Guatemelan pair are playing under the Centro Caribe Sports flag due to their National Olympic Committee's suspension.

Mejia crushed Aguilar 3-0 in the opener, only allowing her opponent six points in total as the contest was quickly wrapped up 11-0, 11-4, 11-2.

Longoria then finished the job with a 14-12, 11-7, 8-11, 12-10 win against Martίnez.

The results mean that Mexico has won all seven racketball gold medals following victories in both individual tournaments as well as the three doubles finals.
