Breaking is set to make its debut as an additional sport at next year's Olympics, and Kraków-Małopolska 2023 marked the first opportunity for European b-girls and b-boys to qualify.

Nicknamed "India" in breaking competition, Sardjoe secured a direct Paris 2024 place with a dominant 3-0 win in the final at Strzelecki Park in Nowy Sacz against Ukraine's Anna Ponomarenko, known as Stefani.

Sardjoe had beaten Sanja Jilwan of Germany 2-0 and Antilai Sandrini of Italy 2-1 earlier in the day to reach the final.

The gold medallist expressed her pride at becoming only the second b-girl after Fatima El-Mamouny of Morocco to secure a place at Paris 2024.

"It is a great opportunity for breaking," Sardjoe said.

"A lot of people don’t know breaking or maybe see it as a joke, but it is so much more than that.

"It is our life, we do it every day and we work hard for it.

"When I won, I was crying because I was so happy.

"Before the final I almost cried because I had so many emotions.

"A lot of people do not know how intense it is.

"It is a sport but it also a culture, it is an art form.

"It is so beautiful to have that at the Olympics and people can enjoy what we all enjoy."

The women's bronze medal match was won 2-1 by Dominika Banevič of Lithuania against Sandrini.

In the men's tournament, Dann narrowly won the final 2-1 against Menno van Gorp of The Netherlands to seal a place at his home Olympics next year.

That followed on from a 2-0 win over Oleg Kuznietsov of Ukraine in the quarter-finals and a 2-1 triumph over Lee-Lou Demierre, also of The Netherlands, in the semi-finals.

Fouad Ambelj of Austria took bronze at the European Games with a 2-1 win against Demierre.

Dann's success makes him the second b-boy to secure a Paris 2024 place along with Morocco's Bilal Mallakh.

A total of 16 athletes are set to compete in the men's and women's events at Paris 2024, with breaking due to be held on the iconic Place de la Concorde.
