World Taekwondo officials have given their seal of approval after an inspection visit to the Xiaoshan Guali Cultural and Sports Center which is set to host Para taekwondo at this year's re-arranged Asian Para Games.

World Taekwondo technical delegate and Para Taekwondo chairman Usman Dildar and the International Federation's Para taekwondo director Olof Hansson spent three days in the region.

"Each aspect of the preparation was well-maintained and met the requirements of World Taekwondo," Dildar said.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the hard work of the organising committee, we had a comprehensive facility assessment, where we experienced excellent preparations.

"All facilities were meticulously evaluated, including the field of play, spectators stand, locker rooms, medical facilities, sport presentation and training and warm up halls."

During their stay, Dildar and Hansson also met municipal officials to discuss the town’s plans to welcome the Games, which was postponed from last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They also joined a seminar given by Games officials on logistical arrangements for the sport.

"Their attention to details revealed meticulous documentation including comprehensive presentations, photographs measurements and detailed observations,"Dildar said.

“All necessary arrangements such as transportation, security measures and other protocols were well coordinated and they demonstrated a high level of preparation,”

The World Taekwondo delegation also sampled dining facilities to be provided for the teams and officials.

These will be the fourth Asian Para Games, but the first to include Para taekwondo, which made its debut on the Paralympic programme at Tokyo 2020.

The sport's place on the programme was confirmed in 2019.

A total of 80 competitors are set to take part in Xiaoshan Guali in a competition which includes five men's events and five for women.

"Only a few minor suggestions were communicated with the Organising Committee about venue accessibility and raised platform on the field of play," Dildar reported after the visit.

The Asian Para Games are scheduled to open on October 22 and conclude on October 28.
