Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Katie Vincent of Canada stood out on the final day of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Sprint World Cup in Szeged by winning two gold medals.

The six-time World Championships gold medallist claimed the C1 500 and C1 5000 titles in Hungary.

Olympic silver medallist Adam Vargaof Hungary added to the men’s K1 1000 gold on Saturday by winning the men’s K2 500 and C2 500 titles.

The women's K2 500 saw five-time Olympic medallist Lisa Carrington and Alicia Hoskin claim gold.

Sandor Totka and Bence Nadas pipped reigning Olympic K2 1000 champions Jean Van Der Westhuyzen and Thomas Green of Australia to win the men's K2 500 event.

Meanwhile, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Australia, Spain and Denmark won gold medals in the non-Olympic events.  

"I like to play my cards on a Sunday, and today was a great day with two gold medals so I’m happy with that," Vincent said.

"I’m feeling pretty positive and confident, but there’s still some things we need to work on, as there always is, but I think we are building towards a stronger and better result later in the year, and this is a really positive stepping stone on our way."

Sergey Yemelyanov and Rufina Iskakova ensured a gold medal for Kazakhstan in the mixed C2 500.

Alyssa Bull and Jackson Collins, the reigning world champions from Australia, edged out compatriots Riley Fitzsimmons and Yale Steinepreis for the mixed K2 500 gold.

For the hosts, Balazs Adolf was unstoppable in winning the C1 final while Spaniard Estefania Fernandez led from start to finish in the women’s K1 race.

Birmingham 2022World Games gold medallist Mads Pedersen of Denmark survived an early scare to clinch the men’s K1 gold medal.

France's Nelia Barbosa, a silver medallist at the last year’s Word Championships and the Tokyo Paralympics, finally managed to get one over long time rival Laura Sugar of Britain in the women’s KL3.

Ukraine’s Maryna Mazhula led from start-to-finish to take the gold in the women’s KL1, beating Chile’s Katherinn Wollermann and Paralympic champion Edina Mueller of Germany.
