Milica Nikolić claimed her first Grand Slam title after triumphing against compatriot and European silver medallist Andrea Stojadinov at the Olympic Sports Palace.

Stojadinov lost the bout inside the regulation four minutes after conceding three penalties in the women's under-48-kilograms decider.

The bronze medals were taken by Narants Ganbaatar of Mongolia and Kazakhstan's Abiba Abuzhakynova.

The result for Nikolić avenged her final loss at last month's Paris Grand Slam against home favourite Blandine Pont.

The second Serbian success came courtesy of Marica Perišić as she got the better of Kosovan Nora Gjakova in the women's under-57kg final.

Olympic champion Gjakova gave up a third and decisive shido penalty in the golden score period to miss out on gold while Canada's 2021 world champion Jessica Klimkait and Italian Veronica Toniolo won bronze.

The final women's title of the day went to Diyora Keldiyorova of Uzbekistan after she delivered an upset to Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Distria Krasniqi of Kosovo in the under-52kg event.

Krasniqi was heavily favoured as she went into the bout undefeated after winning bronze at the World Championships in Tashkent last October.

However, two quick waza-aris from Keldiyorova sealed the victory after bronze medals went to German Mascha Ballhaus and Gultaj Mammadaliyeva of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's Turan Bayramov denied a first Georgian gold medal in the capital city in the men's under-60kg category.

He snatched the first waza-ari point courtesy of a rapid seoi-nage at the halfway point before a second soon followed from a clinical counter, as he defeated Giorgi Sardalashvili.

They were joined on the podium by Ukrainian Artem Lesiuk and Magzhan Shamshadin of Kazakhstan.

Kubanychbek Aibek Uulu prevailed in the men's under-66kg final to claim Kyrgyzstan's first ever Grand Slam gold medal.

He took the spoils following a huge ippon that sent opponent Baskhuu Yondonperenlei of Mongolia crashing to the tatami.

Another Ukrainian bronze was won, this time by Bogdan Iadov who shared the third step with Italy's Matteo Piras.
