England thrashed India by 10 wickets to reach the Men's T20 World Cup final at the Adelaide Oval.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, England restricted India for 168 for six after 20 overs.

Despite a testing target, a sensational opening-wicket partnership between Jos Buttler and Alex Hales secured the victory for England with 24 balls remaining.

Hales was unbeaten on 86 from 47 balls while Buttler finished with 80 from 49.

They will now face Pakistan - who beat New Zealand in the other semi-final - in the final on Sunday (November 13) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Earlier, Chris Woakes started the proceedings for England's bowlers by dismissing KL Rahul in the second over.

With pacer Mark Wood missing the game due to injury, his replacement Chris Jordan did not disappoint and finished with three wickets, including that of skipper Rohit Sharma, who was caught at deep mid-wicket for 27 from 28 balls.

Adil Rashid entered the action, sending Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion, as India were down to 75 for three in 12 overs.

But Hardik Pandya's quick fire 63 from 33 balls and Virat Kohli's 50 ensured India managed a respectable total.

Meanwhile, Buttler started for England with three fours in the first over in what was a sign of things to come.

Hales also supported his teammate with some stellar shots that saw England reach 63 from the powerplay.

The duo were unstoppable as they dispatched India's pacers and spinners to multiple boundaries.

Buttler managed nine fours and three sixes while Hales got four fours and seven sixes to complete an effortless chase.

The final will be a repeat of the famous 1992 50-over World Cup, won by Pakistan.
