The 2017 World Archery Awards will be decided by an online vote ©World Archery

Voting for the World Archery 2017 Athlete of the Year awards has opened with fans able to select their winners online.

The online vote here will decide the best athlete from the recurve men, recurve women, compound men, compound women,  Para-men and Para-women categories.

The recurve men's shortlist includes recent World Cup event winner Steve Wijler of The Netherlands and three-time Olympic medallist Brady Ellison of the United States.

In the women's category with the Olympic bow, Germany's Olympic silver medallist Lisa Unruh is the headline name nominated.

Compound nominees include Danish duo Stephan Hansen and Sarah Sonnichsen.

Beijing 2008 Olympic gold medallist David Drahoninsky of the Czech Republic and current Paralympic champion Jessica Stretton of Great Britain are two of the Para-archery names on the shortlist for the awards.

Voting is open until midnight CET on February 7.

The winners are set to be announced during the Indoor Archery World Cup Final in Las Vegas on February 10.
