Gold Coast 2018 have announced Winc have been appointed as their official office and stationery supplier for next year’s Commonwealth Games.

WInc, formerly known as Staples, have been supplying office stationery and supply solutions for organisers for the past two-years.

Gold Coast 2018 state the company, who have indigenous Australian owned product lines, have been supporting their workforce as they continue towards next year’s Games.

As part of the partnership, Winc are set to work with Gold Coast 2018 on their Schools Connect programme.

The programme will see students paint over 7,000 canvasses supplied by the company, under the theme "Our Place".

It is hoped the project will promote what is great about life on the Gold Coast, with the artwork set to be hung in athletes’ rooms at the Commonwealth Games Village.

A total of 111 schools in the city will be involved in the project.

"We are very proud to play such an important role in supporting students, athletes and workers during the Commonwealth Games," said Darren Fullerton, Winc chief executive.

"As part of our mission, we want to inspire the 11 million Australian workers and learners to play more, learn more and do more and inspire better ways to get things done - this partnership absolutely makes that happen."

Organisers have cited the partnership with a company with indigenous Australian product lines, as another sign that their Reconciliation Action Plan is being supported.

Gold Coast 2018 chief executive Mark Peters welcomed the organisation’s latest supporter as the countdown continues to the Games.

"Winc has been a great support to GOLDOC, supplying all our needs to run an expanding organisation as we prepare for the Games," he said.

"Winc have also worked with us closely on some of our unique product requirements, including this student artwork project that will bring the Commonwealth Games Village to life for Australian and International Athletes.

"This programme is another way of keeping the Games front of mind for local schools and is part of a wider body of work Gold Coast 2018 is doing through our Schools Connect programme.

"I’m looking forward to seeing the student artworks in the Village as we all work together to deliver a friendly Games."

Next year's Commonwealth Games is due to take place from April 4 to 15.
