The Special Olympics World Games is the largest inclusive sporting event in Germany since the 1972 Munich Olympics.
More than 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from over 190 countries will compete together in 26 Olympic-type summer sports. There will also be two demonstration sports, hockey and rowing.
