Lee (pictured top) is a former coach of the South Korean Olympic archery team, as well as having coached Simon Fairweather of Australia to a gold medal on home soil at Sydney 2000, while Nichols is a former national coach of the year for 2000.

They will be joined by team leader Cindy Bevilacqua in supporting the athletes heading to London this summer.

"We are excited to have such a high calibre of coaching and team support nominated for London," said Denise Parker, USA Archery chief executive and a three-times Olympian.


"All of these individuals have demonstrated their passion for supporting the athletes as they pursue excellence, and we are pleased to have them join our teams."

One of the US' weaker Olympic sports, none of their 110 medals at Beijing 2008 was in archery.

However, the US did show promise at the London 2012 archery test event last autumn, when they beat favourites South Korea on their way to victory over Chinese Taipei in the team event.

Beijing 2008 Olympian Brady Ellison (pictured above), the world number-one and a World Cup double winner, beat South Korean Im Dong-Hyun in the same competition to demonstrate his credentials as a strong contender in London this summer.
