50884410May 1 - US Rowing has announced that Bryan Volpenhein has been appointed the interim head coach of the Oklahoma City National High Performance Centre, after John Parker left the post.


Volpenhein joined the coaching staff in August 2010 and had been the lightweight men's coach since December.

He won gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the men's eight, as well as competing in two other Games.

He coached the US to a silver medal in the lightweight men's eight and a bronze medal in the lightweight women's quadruple sculls at the 2009 World Rowing Championships.
