The International Cricket Council (ICC) has struck a deal with SuperSport International (Pty) Limited, which will bring top events to 52 territories in Africa, continuing the tie-up that has been in place since 2007.

The partnership is set to help grow the sport's global strategy with the broadcaster having 22.1 million subscribers across the 52 territories.

Eight years of rights for all matches of senior men's events until 2031, including the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 set to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, has been announced as part of the deal.

"We are delighted to be continuing our successful and proven partnership with SuperSport," ICC chief executive Geoff Allardice said.

"There is a real opportunity for more fans to engage with ICC events and enjoy cricket across the 52 territories.

"Following the hugely successful ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 and the legacy left for women’s cricket in South Africa, I am confident that this strategic partnership will play a major part in building the momentum for women’s sport in the region too."

The partnership will also see four years of all matches of women's events after the success of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup held in South Africa.

The ICC claims the 2023 T20 World Cup boke viewership records in South Africa, with an increase of 790 per cent fans tuning in, compared to the 2020 edition.

All U19 World Cups - both men and women - will be covered as part of the deal.

"We are delighted to have secured another deal with the ICC, continuing our excellent partnership," MultiChoice South Africa chief executive Marc Jury said.

"We are excited to deliver ICC cricket coverage to Africa for the next few years and provide new experiences for fans across the continent."
