Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) has held the second chapter of its Advanced Sport Management course in Muscat.

Organised in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Olympic Solidarity programme, it attracted some 20 participants from sports federations for a three day programme.

The session was given the title "Strategic Management in the Work of the Olympic Sports Institution through the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a good strategic plan" and was led by IOC accredited director, Hisham bin Salem Al-Adwani, a leading sports administrator in Oman.

Organisers said the programme was designed "to provide the highest level of development for participants who work in the sports and Olympic administrative fields in general, and to highlight the basic dimensions that serve these bodies, organisations and committees to raise and develop the administrative level."

Future workshops will in turn cover the six chapters of the Olympic Solidarity publication Management of Olympic Sports Organizations.

A seventh and final session will be for evaluation after which successful applicants are to receive an IOC diploma.
