Team Global Express has signed as an official supporter of the FIFA Women's World Cup ©FIFA

Team Global Express, an Australian logistics services provider, has joined as a supporter for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, it has been announced.

Due to their similar views on sustainability and diversity objectives, FIFA decided that Team Global Express is the ideal logistics provider for the tournament.

They will look to utilise the company's abilities and innovative transport solutions for hosts Australia and New Zealand to meet the requirements for the tournament.

Fatma Samoura, FIFA secretary general, expressed delight over the new partnership.

"We are pleased to be seeing increased commercial support for the FIFA Women's World Cup in the host countries," said Samoura.

"Team Global Express has sustainability and diversity at the heart of its operations, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 looks forward to partnering with an entity that shares common values."

Christine Holgate, the chief executive for Team Global Express, also spoke on the partnership. 

"As a passionate advocate for women in the workplace and the development of women in sport, I am very excited for Australia and New Zealand to host the single biggest women’s sporting event in the world," she said.

"We have a vision to be at the cutting-edge of the transport and logistics industry in both Australia and New Zealand and a crucial part of this is supporting women’s participation, both within the industry and further afield.

"Team Global Express and the FIFA Women’s World Cup are significantly aligned on these values."

Team Global Express have also recently partnered with Australia's largest heavy vehicle electric fleet, where 60 large battery electric vehicles were bought as they develop charging infrastructure using renewable energy.

They also partnered with Australia’s largest rail freight provider to significantly improve the nation's rail freight capacity and become more sustainable.

The tournament is set to take place from July 20 to August 20, as 32 nations compete for the first time after the expansion from 24 teams.
