Ghana's Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture sent a six-member delegation to inspect the construction sites for the Accra 2023 African Games.

The delegation, which was led by chairman Johnson Kwaku Adu, visited the facilities at the University of Ghana in Legon and Borteyman.

At the sites were also delegates from the Organising Committee, which comprised executive chairman Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, chief operating officer Emmanuel Owusu Ansah and his deputy Reks Brobby, alongside other Minister of Youth and Sports officials.

At the Borteyman project, one of the sites being developed for the Games, the delegation was briefed on its progress and were given a long tour around the area.

The African Games were postponed due to issues with preparations and economic pressures.

Ofosu-Asare said that the disagreements between the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa and the African Union Sports Council have been resolved, and that the Organising Committee got all stakeholders to inspect the facilities to ensure that everything is in order.

The Accra 2023 African Games is now due to take place from March 8 to 23 2024.
