The Local Organising Committee (LOC) in Ghana has officially revealed the logo for the 2023 African Para Games, despite the African Games in Accra being postponed to 2024.

A ceremony revealing the logo was held at North Ridge, the venue of the event in Accra, Ghana.

Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee (AFPC), expressed joy in having the event in his home nation Ghana.

"Ghana is highly privileged to host and organise the first edition of the African Para Games," said Deen.

"The African Paralympic Committee can boast of an ultra-modern office with the necessary facilities and accessories and dedicated staff to facilitate a smooth administration and management of our organisation."

Deen also mentioned that they aim to increase athlete qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The logo features the African map on it, with the Ghanaian flag placed where the country's location should be.

The AFPC also used red and yellow, which are the colours of the committee.

The event will be taking place later this year from September 3 to 12, where 36 nations are expected to participate.

The African Games, initially scheduled to be held from August 4 to 19, has been postponed to next year, due to delays in preparations and the nation facing a sever economic crisis.

New dates for the African Games is expected to be announced soon.
