The first ticketing phase for the Paris 2024 Olympics, devoted to the sales of Make Your Games packs, has seen those for sport climbing, fencing, judo, breaking, skateboarding and BMX racing and freestyle sell out within a week of the February 15 launch.

More tickets for these and other sports and disciplines will be available during the next sales phase.

The opening phase, which is due to conclude on March 15, is offering tickets for all Olympic sports.

Among the sports/disciplines still available in this first phase of sales, around 15 still offer entry prices of €50 (£44/$53) or less, such as the women's rugby sevens final at the Stade de France, equestrian's cross-country discipline in Versailles, a medal session for mountain biking in Elancourt, a basketball night session in Lille, and the canoe sprint final in Vaires-sur-Marne.

It is also still possible to obtain tickets during this first sales phase for sports such as athletics, golf, handball, tennis, table tennis or volleyball.

Tickets at €50 and less are available in around 15 for this first sales phase.

Of the 10 million tickets for sale for the Olympic Games, Paris 2024 organisers stress that one million tickets are being offered at an entry price of €24 (£21/$25) for all sports - with the exception of surfing, which is not subject to ticketing - and throughout all sales phases.

French purchasers currently represent more than two thirds of the buyers among the 112 nationalities listed.

For this first phase of ticket sales, fans are able to purchase "Make Your Games" packs of tickets to curate their own ideal Olympic experience.

Each "Make Your Games" pack of tickets includes three sessions assembled according to the purchaser’s preferences.

To create a pack an individual is able to choose three sessions from all the sports on the programme, subject to availability and choice, and select up to six tickets for each session.

Packs are designed to be flexible to suit the purchasers’ needs, whether they are attending on their own, with friends or as a family.

A maximum number of 30 tickets will be allowed per account in all Olympic sales phases combined.

Access to the first phase of sales was gained through a draw for which interested parties were invited to register between December 1 2022 and January 31 this year.

Those successful in the draw have been allocated 48-hour timeslots between February 15 and March 15 to purchase their tickets.

The use of a draw to allocate purchasing timeslots is a new feature for the Games.

The next phase of sales, devoted to single tickets for the Olympic Games, will begin with a phase of registration for the draw from March 15 to April 20 2023.

The actual sale will begin on May 11, during which tickets for all sports, tickets for the ceremonies, as well as tickets for the final stages of the most popular events will be offered.

The ticket office for the Paralympic Games is due to open this autumn.
