Villa Lobos Park in São Paulo will be transformed into a "fan fest" centre during the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) has announced.

The Villa Olímpica Park, as it will be known during the Games, will be dedicated to Olympic sports with numerous attractions from July 11 to August 11.

Fans will be able to follow Brazilian athletes live and the site will feature shows, activations, virtual and sensory experiences.

The launch event, this Monday, was held at Parque Villa Lobos and was attended by swimmer Giovana Diamante, winner of eight golds at the 2022 South American Games, and Jaqueline Silva, Atlanta 1996 gold medallist in beach volleyball.

The Park is one of the main tourist attractions in the city, receiving more than a million people per month.

One of the temporary features will be the Olympic Villa, a space that will be dedicated to Olympic sports and will feature several partnerships, as brands will have the opportunity to create activations, exhibitions, conduct sports clinics and provide experiences aimed at the public.

There will be 24 Olympic disciplines spread across the park, including the most recent in the Games, such as skateboarding, climbing and breaking.

The Arena Time Brasil will provide live broadcast of the Games, concerts, immersive COB experience, gastronomy and various brand activities.

It will also be the first place to welcome athletes who are coming back from Paris, providing contact with the public, in addition to a studio of the Canal Olímpico do Brasil dedicated for transmission.

The COB will also provide a unique, physical and digital immersive experience, following a current worldwide trend of sensory museums.

Fans will be able to learn more about the history of the Brazilian Olympic Movement, accessing historical items from the COB collection, which today has more than 3,000 pieces.

"Villa Olímpica Park is a great opportunity to bring our brand and our initiatives ever closer to all sports stakeholders, especially Brazilian fans, practitioners and supporters, who will be giving us full support during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," said Paulo Wanderley, President of COB.

"This project contemplates everything that we as a brand seek - being able to connect with fans and sports practitioners, providing an innovative, unprecedented and unique experience."

Gustavo Herbetta, COB marketing director, added: "We will close our brand plan for this cycle, which begins now in March, with the launch of the new COB campaign and goes to Paris 2024 in a brilliant way, with the Villa Olimpica Park."
