Canada have been the dominant force in the mixed team Continental Championship event, winning every edition except one since the inaugural tournament in 1977.

They eased into this year's final at the State Council for Sports Promotion Mayor II Sports Centre venue, beating Mexico 3-0 in the semi-finals.

Adam Dong and Nyl Yakura came from behind to beat Pan American men's doubles champions Job Castillo and Luis Montoya 20-22, 21-14, 21-14, and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Michelle Li eased past Vanessa Maricela Garcia Contreras 21-9, 21-7.

Brian Yang clinched Canada's progress with a 21-9, 21-19 victory against Luis Ramón Garrido.

They were joined the final by the US, who overcame Brazil 3-1.

Vinson Chiu and Joshua Yuan saw off Fabricio Farias and Matheus Voigt 21-13, 21-10, then Beiwen Zhang triumphed 21-14, 21-12 against Juliana Viana Vieira to put the US in control.

Jonathan Mathias gave Brazil hope by beating Adrian King-Sun Mar 21-18, 21-12, but the US' place in the final was secured by a 21-17, 21-15 win for Annie Xu and Kerry Xu against Samia Lima and Sania Lima.

Brazil bounced back later in the day to win bronze in a tie against Mexico that went the distance.

Jaqueline Lima and Farias put Brazil in front with a 21-17, 21-14 victory over Montoya and Miriam Jacqueline Rodriguez Perez, but Garrido levelled with a 21-15, 19-21, 22-20 win against Ygor Coelho and the host nation went in front courtesy of Castillo and Montoya, who beat Farias and Davi Silva 21-15, 21-17.

Juliana Viana Vieira forced a decider with a 21-12, 21-9 win against Garcia Contrer, and Samia Lima and Sania Lima earned bronze for Brazil by coming from behind to defeat Romina Fregoso and Rodriguez Perez 13-21, 21-15, 21-17.

The final between Canada and the US is set to take place tomorrow.
