University students in Poland have been given the chance to get involved with the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games as the Organising Committee has launched a poster design competition.

People enrolled in arts institutions are able to create a poster that will be used throughout the Games and "be an inseparable element of this great sporting event."

"The designed poster should reflect the spirit of the Games - contain one or more sports disciplines played during the European Games and refer to the culture of the Małopolska region, read a Kraków-Małopolska 2023 statement.

"The poster should also include the logo of the Games and the inscription 'European Games Kraków-Małopolska 2023'.

"We count on the great creativity of all participants!"

Submissions can be sent in paper or electronic form, and it is strictly open to students from artistic universities.

The winner of the competition will receive PLN3,000 (£565/$690/€640), two free tickets to the Games' Opening Ceremony and a set of gadgets.

A deadline for entries has been set for January 27 before the results are set to be announced by February 6.

Kraków-Małopolska 2023 is the third edition of the European Games, following on from Baku in 2015 and Minsk in 2019.

The event is due to take place this year from June 21 to July 2 as all five major continental multi-sport Games are scheduled for the next 12 months.
