Merijn Scheperkamp and compatriot Hein Otterspeer bagged the first two spots in the men’s sprint standings.

Scheperkamp took the sprint title with a total score of 139.050, based on the samalog system that converts times to points.

Otterspeer was involved in a tight battle but a slip in the 500 metres forced him to settle for second spot with 139.290 points.

The bronze went to world junior 1000m bronze medallist Marten Liiv of Estonia.

Liiv managed to score 139.410 points.

Another Dutchman in Kai Verbij and Italian David Bosa finished fourth and fifth on 139.585 and 140.095, respectively.

Skaters from The Netherlands shared the top-two spots in the women’s sprint event as well.

Beijing 2022 1000m silver medallist Jutta Leerdam bagged her second European sprint title, with 149.960 points.

Femke Kok grabbed another medal for the Dutch, finishing second in 151.290.

Austrian Vanessa Herzog, a sprint champion in 2019, took bronze in 153.395.

Marrit Fledderus of The Netherlands and Polish Karolina Bosiek completed the top five.

Fledderus with 154.130 bagged fourth spot while Bosiek finished fifth in 155.125.

Four-time Olympic medallist Patrick Roest cruised to the all-round men’s title in 147.961.

Norway and Belgium finished second and third in the category thanks to Sander Eitrem and Bart Swings, respectively.

Eitrem scored 148.180 for silver while Swings got bronze in 150.567.

Antoinette de Jong, who won two bronze medals in Beijing, added to the Dutch delight by winning the women’s all-round title.

She bagged 159.769 points while Norwegian Ragne Wiklund settled for silver with 160.228 points.

De Jong’s teammate finished the event with bronze in 160.506.
