The group phase is set to be held in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.

"Each host could select a preferred team based on commercial reasons, as their choice will have no impact on the integrity of the event or the draw process," FIBA said.

Slovenia qualified from European Group C alongside Finland, and have been nominated as opposition by Japan.

They are set to play their matches in the group phase in the Japanese city of Okinawa.

Canada, who have a perfect record so far in Americas Group E, are set to travel to the Indonesian capital Jakarta for their group matches.

Both nations have already secured their places in the final stages before qualification is completed.

The United States lead the table after 12 of the 18 matches in Americas Group F and are expected to seal qualification in the final "window" of qualifiers, due to be played in February next year, and have been chosen by the Philippines to feature in their group on the basis of them progressing.

The full draw is due to be made in Manila on April 29 after all 32 qualifying nations are known.

The Philippines are also hosting the final tournament later in the year and will be placed in pot one when the draw is made for the group stages.

The final round is due to begin in Manila on August 25.
