Kazakhstan's good show on day one of the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) Asian-Pacific Championships has been marred with a disqualification.

The governing body announced that Adil Duisen and his coach Telzhan Kabdiyev were disqualified with immediate effect after getting caught attempting to manipulate results during the weigh-ins.

Duisen has been removed from the draw in the 70.3 kilograms category while Kabdiyev’s accreditation will be cancelled, prohibiting him from coaching the nation at the event.

GAMMA President Alexander Engelhardt issued a statement on the importance of integrity on sport after the disqualification.

"One of GAMMA's core values is integrity and we will not tolerate any form of competition manipulation," Engelhardt said.
