The Puerto Rico Olympic Committee is holding a drawing competition for children

The Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (COPUR) is holding a drawing contest for children with the theme of Olympic values.

The competition is open to boys and girls across three categories based on age groups.

Participants are invited to choose one of the three Olympic values - excellence, friendship and respect - and produce a drawing on that topic.

"The Children's School Olympic Art contest aims to promote creativity in the boys and girls of Puerto Rico through the theme of Olympic values," said COPUR President Sara Rosario Vélez.

"The call is open for the winning schools, colleges or academic centre."

Entries are open until November 4, with the winners set to be selected a jury from the COPUR and announced at an event to unveil the country’s delegation for the Santa Marta 2022 Central American and Caribbean Games, scheduled for November 9.

"These drawings will be decorating the villa of the delegation of Puerto Rico in Santa Marta," added Rosario Vélez.

"The children will be able to see through the Olympic values many positive things, joys and a great opportunity to help the teachers in their physical education class."

The winning child in each category will receive a Nintendo Switch featuring the game Olympic Games Tokyo, while their place of education will earn the opportunity to purchase sports equipment up to the value of $300 (£260/€300).
