The Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games is set to feature around 2,000 athletes, of whom 850 are expected to be daily wheelchair users and 500 use prostheses.

The multi-sport event is scheduled for November 17 to 26, following on from the Pan American Games, which are also due to be held in Santiago.

A total of 17 sports and 18 disciplines are on the programme for the Parapan American Games, with 33 countries expected to take part.

Chile has never previously held the Pan American or Parapan American Games.
