Souza medalled in all three men’s events on the final day, winning in the horizontal bar with a score of 14.150 points.

Souza had to settle for silver in the men’s parallel bars event, with victory going the way of Jossimar Calvo Moreno of Colombia with 14.525.

The Brazilian was back on the top step of the podium in the men’s salto, winning with a total of 14.475.

There was a Brazilian one-two in the women’s floor exercise, with Julia Das Neves Botega Soares taking the gold on 13.700, from compatriot Carolyne Mercer Winche Pedro on 13.067.

Botega Soares won a second gold in the women’s balance beam, winning with a score of 12.967 points.

Brazil, who continue to lead the overall medal table at the multi-sport event, took the day’s artistic swimming title, winning the women’s technical duet category with 158.5894 points.

In the individual BMX freestyle cycling finals, women’s gold went to Chile’s Macarena Valentina Perez Grasset with 75.33 points, with the men’s title going to Argentina’s Jose Augusto Torres Gil.

Medals were also handed out today in the golf competitions, with the men’s event won by Jorge Diogenes Fernandez Valdes of Argentina with a score of four-under-par, as he claimed a two-shot victory.

In the women’s tournament Maria Jose Marin Negrete of Colombia was a convincing winner, finishing at one-over-par and taking the title by nine shots.

In the mixed event Argentina claimed victory with 576 points, triumphing by two points from Paraguay and six points from bronze medallists Colombia.

The first medals were also handed out in water skiing, with Chile taking three golds.
