Egypt has selected a taekwondo squad for a training camp in neighbouring Jordan.

Eight fighters have flown to Amman for sessions at the Jordanian national team centre.

Mustafa Faraj, Ahmed Wael, Ayad Barakat, Rami Issa, Ahmed Rawi, Sami, Shahata and Mason Ehab are those to have made the trip.

It comes as Egypt prepares for two major events.

English city Manchester will host a World Taekwondo Grand Prix between October 21 and 23, before the World Championships take place in Guadalajara in Mexico between November 13 and 20.

Coaching team Osama Sayed and Ahmed Al-Shabasi have also travelled to Amman.

Seif Eissa, who won bronze in the men's under-80 kilograms event at last year's delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has not travelled to Jordan.

The Egyptian Taekwondo Federation said he would instead be training in Cairo.

Hedaya Malak also won a bronze medal in Tokyo - her second at the Olympic Games - in the women's under-67kg.

Egypt will also compete at the Lebanon International Championship G2 between October 1 and 3.
