After winning the inaugural competition three years ago, Spain secured its second title at the UEFA Women's Futsal Euro by defeating Portugal in a rematch - this time dramatically on penalties in Gondomar.

The two favourites made it into the final with clean sheets in the semi-finals at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar.

The hosts Portugal thrashed Hungary 6-0 thanks to goals from Pisko, Carolina Pedreira, Fifó, Catia Morgado and Ana Maria Lopes Pereira.

Hungarian Zsuzsanna Folk added another for the Portuguese with an own goal.

Spain smashed Ukraine 9-0 to set up a rematch in the final, with Luci scoring twice.

Mayte, Irene Córdoba, Peque, Ale de Paz, Maria Sanz, Amelia and Irene Samper all got on the scoresheet too.

In the final, both teams scored twice to send the match into extra-time, with Ana Azevedo and Pisko giving Portugal a two-goal lead, before Spain got on the scoresheet late in the first-half through Ale de Paz.

Ale de Paz got the equaliser with six minutes to go.

Pisko crucially missed a penalty in extra-time and a minute later, Maria Sanz but Spain in front for the first time.

Pisko made amends with her second of the match in the 48th minute to take the final to penalties.

It was a stark contrast to the 2019 final, which Spain won comfortably 4-0.

Spain did look comfortable on penalties, with Peque and Amelia scoring the first two, sandwiching a miss from Portugal's first taker, Ana Azevedo.

Carla Vanessa got the hosts on the scoresheet, but Mayte maintained the two-goal lead by converting hers successfully.

Ana Pires' miss for Portugal - and Spanish goalkeeper Silvia's second save of the shootout - meant Irene Córdoba would end the game by scoring the fourth penalty - which she did.

Spain won 4-1 on penalties after the score finished 3-3 in extra-time.

Ukraine defeated Hungary 2-1 for third place, thanks to goals from Yuliya Tytova and Snezhana Volovenko.

Their opponents made the scoresheet late on thanks to Viktória Horvath.
