Spain and France triumphed in the women's and men's senior trampoline team competition at the European Championships in Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini-Trampoline in Rimini in Italy.

Both divisions were contested with a new format which saw the finals divided into three groups, with one athlete per country performing.

The Spanish team was made up of Noemi Romero Rosario, Melania Rodriguez and Marina Chavarria and held off a tough challenge from Georgia, represented by Teona Janjgava, Luba Golovina, Anano Apakidze and Sophio Dashniani.

The Spaniards finished with 13 points to Georgia's 11 thanks to winning performances from Rodriguez and Romero.

Germany, Portugal, and Ukraine rounded out the rest of the field with nine, seven, and five points, respectively.

In the men’s competition, France and Portugal went head-to-head with all six gymnasts completing their full routine.

Both teams were anchored by experienced gymnasts as France's Allan Morante scored 58.970, slightly less than the highest score of the final, which was 58.990 for Britain's Zak Perzamanos, while Diogo Abreu of Portugal posted a 57.240.

Morante and team-mates Florestan Riou, Pierre Gouzou and Morgan Demiro O Domiro picked up a leading 12 points to secure gold for France.

Portugal and Britain took home silver and bronze with Ukraine and Germany following behind.
