Sweden’s Fredrik Lundmark progressed to the final of the men’s barebow competition at the World Archery 3D Championships in Lac la Biche.

Lundmark clinched a 33-26 victory over Dewayne Martin of the United States in the semi-final stage of the competition in Canada.

He will now face France’s David Jackson, who secured a dominant 29-13 win over American John Demmer III.

There were mixed fortunes for Sweden in the women’s competition.

Stine Asell progressed to the gold medal match by beating American Fawn Girard 34-24, but her team-mate Lina Bjorklund suffered a 23-15 defeat to France’s Christine Gauthe.

In the men’s compound event, Italy’s Giuseppe Seimandi won a shoot-off against Austria’s Nico Wiener after their semi-final match ended level at 36-all.

Hungary’s Gyorgy Gondan edged Italy’s Jesse Sut 40-38 in the second semi-final.

Austria’s Ingrid Ronacher overcame Heather Gore of the US 40-26 in the women's tournament.

She will now face France’s Elodie Galvez in the gold medal match after she beat Italy’s Irene Franchini 33-30.

Competition continues tomorrow in Canada, with individual and team matches.

The 3D archery concept is a subset of field archery, focusing on shooting at life-size models of game.
