The rain in St Lucia prevented play in Group A ©ICC T20

The only match scheduled on day two of the International Cricket Council Women's World T20 was abandoned due to rain in St Lucia.

England's Group A clash with Sri Lanka did not see a ball bowled due to the wash-out at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground.

The umpires did not even call the captains for the toss as 2009 winners England and the Sri Lankans were left unable to get their campaigns underway.

As a result, both teams received one point each from the match.

The current standings of Group A see the West Indies at the top with two points after the hosts and holders beat Bangladesh in their first game yesterday.

Group B is due to resume in Guyana tomorrow with India v Pakistan and Australia v Ireland.
