Slovenia’s Toni Vodisek impressed on the second day of the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) KiteFoil GoldCup to rise up the standings at the Pearl here today.

He had finished fifth in the only race contested yesterday and the 16-year-old built on his performance with a series of strong results today.

The teenager triumphed in four of the six races contested, the effort seeing the Slovenian move into second place overall.

He trails Britain’s Olly Bridge, whose best results of the day included one race win and three second place finishes.

Bridge leads the standings on 14 points, with Vodisek just two adrift.

Monaco’s Maxime Nocher will be disappointed to lie third overall, having led overnight, but remains well placed on 18 points.

The world champion is followed by Axel Mazella, the Frenchman a further four points off the early pace.
