Cassie Sharpe claimed her first career World Cup in the women's event, finishing with a score of 93.80 in Tignes, France.

"Can't believe this happened! Took home my 1st BIG win, so grateful to everyone pushing me & the sport @SFRFreestyle," she wrote on Twitter with a picture of her atop the podium.

Sharpe finished ahead of Sochi 2014 Olympic bronze medallist Ayana Onozuka of Japan, who scored 90.40 for the silver medal, and Brita Sigourney of the United States who clinched bronze with 86.40.

Meanwhile, Sochi 2014 silver medallist Mike Riddle topped the podium in the men's competition.

His score of 95.00 points saw him finishing ahead of Americans David Wise on 94.20 and Alex Ferreira with 87.40, who took the silver and bronze medals respectively.

"I actually landed all three runs, which for me is kind of rare," Riddle said.

"That was probably my favourite part of the night.

"But my goal tonight was just to go out and put my run down.

"It took me three tries so I'm definitely loving the three-run format in the World Cups this year.

"Everyone skied so well and I'm unbelievably happy to come out on top."
