The Committee was due to be wound-up in March 2011 but it is still active and, with them involved in more than a dozen legal cases in the Indian courts, there is no sign of it being closed down in the near future.

Their current headquarters have been given to several Indian Government departments, including the country's National Investigation Agency, and Delhi 2010 are relocating to a new office inside Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. 

But that is only a temporary location because there is still so more than 50 people working for the Organising Committee and they need more space. 

"We had been allotted office space inside the JLN Stadium," said Jarnail Singh, the Delhi 2010 chief executive.

"But, it was found to be inadequate.

"We have asked for more space."

The Games, the biggest sports event to be held in India, was overshadowed by allegations of corruption. 

Several Indian agencies are now involved in investigating contracts linked to the Games while Suresh Kalmadi, the former chairman of Delhi 2010, is currently on trial for awarding illegal contracts to Swiss Timing.  

Most of the people still working for Delhi 2010 are, not surprisingly, employed in the legal department. 

"They will be laid off in due course," said Singh.
